About

Los Angeles Galaxy VS New England Revolution; 2014 MLS Cup Final.

What’s up y’all?

My name is Carlos Alberto Peña, That Footy Dude. I am a Mexican born in the United States, a hardcore soccer/football/fútbol/footy fan and your average Sunday league player. I like to consider myself as someone who is passionate about soccer and an advocate of the sport on and off the pitch. Here I will be presenting my honest thoughts and opinions as a fan, player, and consumer.

Thank you for checking out this new blog, I hope you enjoy my honesty and my take on all things footy. (Blows Whistle)

LOS ANGELES GALAXY

I first became a Los Angeles Galaxy fan ironically enough by going to Chivas USA matches. We would attend these matches as a family as we had a close relative working for Chivas USA. Once I witnessed the Galaxy play live and I saw a few of my heroes play, Landon Donovan and David Beckham, I said to myself, “Now THAT’S a team I want to support.”

MANCHESTER UNITED

Back in the mid-2000s, not much European football was being broadcast in the U.S. But the teams that were broadcast were the best in the world, and at that time, Man United was definitely one of the best. What also brought me to Man United was YouTube. When you’re kid all you want to watch is the best players and try your best to replicate them, and that player was Cristiano Ronaldo. So when I did some research to see who this “team in red” was I found myself watching the golden age of Manchester United.

CHIVAS DE GUADALAJARA

Like most Mexican born children, you become a fan of whatever team your parents support. I am so thankful for it too, Chivas was the first team I supported and it opened the door to my heart for the sport of fútbol.
